Summer Mathematics Assignments 2023 (Grades 9-12)

It is recommended that ALL students practice their mathematics skills during the summer. The student will be assigned mathematics summer recommendations using Delta Math or Khan Academy according to the math course they are enrolled in for the 2023-2024 school year (details below).

Students can set up their own accounts on Khan Academy

These tools allow students to find additional practice, receive feedback, and find videos to explain concepts they may have forgotten. The recommendations are designed to allow students to reinforce and review skills they have learned in the past. Please see the section below for additional information on the specific student recommendations.

Students entering Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2

Algebra 1. Teachers will place specific recommendations in the students' Google Classrooms on topics foundational to Algebra 1. These will show up as assignments with a target date of early September. Students will have access to their teacher after the start of school and will be required to complete these assignments during the first weeks of school if not completed over the summer. Teachers will work with students in September to provide targeted feedback and instruction. Before the end of September, students will be assessed on these foundational skills using a custom assignment in Delta Math. (Google class code: swlsjor)

Geometry. Teachers will place specific recommendations in the students' Google Classroom on topics foundational to Geometry. These will show up as assignments with a target date of early September. Students will have access to their teacher after the start of school and will be required to complete these assignments during the first weeks of school if not completed over the summer. Teachers will work with students in September to provide targeted feedback and instruction.
