• The reading support program in Berkeley Heights provides academic support and intervention to meet the needs of all learners, grades K-5. Utilizing a research based program, students will develop important reading skills and strategies that are necessary to become lifelong independent readers. The reading support program thoroughly teaches foundational skills of the Common Core State Standards. Students are identified as eligible for reading support through various formal and informal assessments.  This process includes performance and a review of:

               * DIBELS (Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills Next).

                * Fountas & Pinnell Assessment

                * PARCC Scores (3-5)

                * Classroom performance

                * Teacher recommendation
