The Instructional Review Program in Berkeley Heights provides proactive academic support and intervention to meet the needs of all learners, grades 2-8. Through instructional support program services, the students develop skills for better self-reliance and confidence for working in the general education classrooms. Students are identified as eligible for support services for mathematics and writing through the district developed screening process. This process includes review of:
- Performance on district/state standardized tests below the minimum level(s) of proficiency established by the district/state
- Classroom performance
- Teacher recommendation
Students’ needs are met through the development of an Individual Student Improvement Plan (ISIP) and the provision of instructional support in order to improve functioning that is commensurate with grade-level expectations. Questions regarding the Instructional Review Program should be directed to the student’s building principal.
