What is Student Auxiliary? We are one of the few service-oriented clubs within Governor Livingston High School. We complete projects and help at events within our school, as well as the local community.
Some of the volunteer services that we provide include:
- Acting as ushers and distributing programs at the school play and musical
- Selling Concessions at the school play and musical
- Playing Bingo with Seniors and keeping them company
- Making Dog Treats and Toys for the local animal shelter
- Making Halloween Goodie Bags for Children’s Specialized Hospital
- Sending holiday cards to our deployed military personnel
Why should I join Student Auxiliary? To give back to our school and our community! Helping people is a very rewarding experience. It also looks great on your college applications or National Honor Society application, because it is a service-based club.
I am very busy, what if I can’t make it to all of the events? It’s not a problem! We know everyone has other obligations, so we don’t punish you for not attending every event. Student Auxiliary is great because it allows you to participate in the activities that best fit your schedule and interests. We meet approximately once a month, during lunch, to plan activities and to discuss upcoming projects. The only important aspect of attendance is that you must attend at least 4 events if you want to be recognized for your service hours, to join us for the year end party, or on the Board. To become a future President, you will need to serve on the Board for at least one year previous to your nomination.
You must also pay the student activity fee, if you haven't already. See the district website for directions to pay this fee through Pay for It .
How can I find out about Student Auxiliary events? We keep in touch through through Google Classroom code #7u7kzv0. We post upcoming events and pictures of past events there as well. Our home base is room 122, the foods lab. Mrs. Hodge and Ms. Moretti are the advisors.New members are always welcome!
