Dear Parents,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Kim Tracey, and I have been teaching at Columbia for over 22 years. My background includes a B.A in Psychology from Marist College and a Masters Degree in Teaching from Fairleigh Dickinson University. My experiences have provided me with the insight to keep students motivated and challenged while having fun learning. I am the reading teacher for the Gold Team. This year we will be reading various types of literature and nonfiction. Your support at home will ensure a successful sixth-grade year. My goal is that in addition to learning subject content material, my classroom is a place where children develop organization, responsibility and independence. PowerSchool is a valuable tool for monitoring your child's progress, along with this school website. I am looking forward to working with your child, as well as with you, throughout this new school year.
