School Counseling Program
The school counseling program is designed to support and provide assistance to students in building a successful and productive high school experience and a strong foundation for their future. Counselors build a positive relationship with each student based upon trust, confidentiality, and mutual respect. Students meet with their counselors regularly to review progress, plan academic programs, make key educational and career decisions and discuss problems that they encounter in high school. Counselors will schedule regular conferences with students; however, students and parents are encouraged to make an appointment when there is a need. The Counseling and Guidance Office is the heart of the school and students are always welcome. Each year counselors offer individual meetings, small group sessions and classroom lessons for students and evening programs for parents and students. Activities help students adjust to high school, explore career interests, and prepare for college, post-secondary education, and jobs. Counseling activities help students experience success and ultimately follow a productive and rewarding career path.
Students' tentative schedules for the 2022-2023 school year are now viewable by logging into the PowerSchool Student portal. Please know that all courses in this schedule were based off of the student’s course request/selection in the early spring. All students had an opportunity to make any alterations to their course requests prior to the master schedule being created. Students were also required to provide alternate electives in the event one/more of their top electives did not fit into their schedule. The master schedule was created to make every effort to meet the majority of students’ academic and elective needs.
Please see the letter for an explanation. If you need to complete the "scheduling error form", you must have a bhpsnj.org email address.
