Katherine Zhou, Senior Representative
My name is Katherine Zhou, and I'm a senior at Governor Livingston HS that serves as one of the student representatives on the district's Board of Education. In school, I'm involved in many of the STEM clubs. I am the Captain of the Highlander Robotics team, President of the Science Olympiad Club, President of the Science National Honor Society, and one of the co-founders of the new Women in STEM Club. I'm also involved in the Technology Student Association engineering club, M3 Math Modeling team, and the Science Bowl team. Aside from my involvement in STEM, I also serve as a representative on my class Student Council and a member of the Executive Board for the Understanding Asian Cultures Club.Outside of school, I played varsity tennis and served as a co-captain of the GL Girl's Tennis Team. I'm also a violinist in the NJYS Youth Symphony. Above all, I really enjoy staying involved in my community in any way that I can. I've been a Girl Scout since third grade, and I recently earned my Girl Scout Gold Award for running a science club at Mountain Park Elementary School. In college, I plan to major in mechanical engineering and potentially minor in economics, business, or entrepreneurship.
