PARTICIPATION FEE LETTER
For students attending Columbia Middle School who wishes to participate in school based sports or activities, a participation fee will be assessed based on the schedule found below as set forth in the Board of Education Policy #2436.
Payments are collected via a secure online payment system. If you are a prior “PayForIt” user, your account is now located at the new “payschoolcentral” site. Parents and/or guardians are asked to make their payments on the https://www.payschoolscentral.com/ using the instructions found on the Student Activity Fee link on our homepage under Quick-Links.
Columbia Middle School:
- Students participating in at least one sport and any activities must pay a fee of $100.00.
- Students participating in activities but NO sports must pay a fee of $75.00.
- The maximum fee for a family (All Schools) is $350.00.
The fee for students in the free and reduced lunch program will be waived. Any family that is experiencing financial difficulties should contact the district business office at (908) 464-1601 to discuss the possibility of waiving or reducing the fee.
First Meetings – Any student can attend the first meeting of any sport or activity without worry over the fee. That introduction will include a conversation about the fee for participation while giving your child an opportunity to preview the activity.
Both clubs and sports will begin with this “information session” so your child can share what they learned and their interest at home prior to incurring any expense.
