Services

  • Governor Livingston High School offers the following services to our students who are deaf and hard of hearing:

     
    • Core academic courses in the self-contained, resource center and general education settings, including opportunities for AP/Honors levels based on student qualifications.

    • A shared half-day program with Union County Vocational Technical Institute.

    • A Community-Based Instruction (CBI)/Structured Learning Experience (SLE) program offers a range of experiences designed to successfully transition students towards their individual post-secondary goals. 

    • Highly qualified Teachers of the Deaf who instruct using Total Communication.

    • Certified Educational Interpreters for all resource center and general education classes, IEP meetings, guidance appointments, club meetings, assemblies, sports, and performances. 

    • A speech and language specialist who provides an experiential, language rich environment while supporting and enhancing a comprehensive range of communication skills.
