    Thank you to the PTO for the staff appreciation snacks that were provided on March 25th

     

    The fifth-grade team wants to thank the PTO for the terrific virtual assembly on Marie Curie.  It was very informative and entertaining, and the kids enjoyed it.  It was also great to learn so much about this amazing scientist during Women’s History Month.

     

    Grades 3 and 5 are now slated to take the cognitive abilities tests on April 19th, 20th and 22nd.  Further information will be sent home to those specific grades -.

    Congratulations to Mrs. Holzmann

    She is the 2020.2021 MPS Educator of the Year.

    Hello from GLHS! 

    In this year's Introduction to Theatre Arts students have made videos of themselves reading children's books to share with elementary teachers and students. Attached here is a document outlining all of the book readings available to you, and attached here is the folder of all the videos. We truly hope that these are helpful and enjoyable to you and your students. Thank you so much for all you do to make reading fun and exciting!

     

    Cognitive Abilities Tests for grades three and five will not be taking place the week of  March 22nd. Further communication will be provided regarding dates in late April.

    March 12th will be a fully remote day for grades 3, 4, 5

    Cognitive ability tests for grades three and five are TENTATIVELY scheduled for March 22, 23, 24.

    Progress reports will be emailed home on 3.22.21

    There are no firm dates set for the grades 3, 4, 5 NJSLA process.

    The Berkeley Heights Education Association is holding two virtual Read Across America events for students.     Thank you for your support regarding the grade level Black History Month projects. Our students have embraced this opportunity to sharpen their research skills and acknowledge the important accomplishments and contributions of many great Americans.

    As a reminder, please notify Mrs. Lake if you will be traveling outside the immediate region (New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Delaware). Students are required to quarantine for 10 days upon return or 7 days with a negative covid-19 test and must be symptom free when returning to in-person school.  Note: Covid-19 test must be taken within 48 hours of return to school. Students may participate remotely during this quarantine.

    • Thank you for doing a great job completing the daily health screening form and for being completely transparent with all health related updates and concerns.
    • Remote instruction for MPS grades 3, 4, 5 on 2.10.21
    • Please make sure all students come to school with real winter coats, gloves and a hat each day
    • Thank you for your support of the Student Council pajama and book donation activity

    Fifth Graders interested in being involved with the MPS Yearbook, please complete the Google Form found in your Berkeley Heights email account to sign up to be in the Yearbook Club.
    Students who participate will be able to let Mrs. Pellegrini know when photos need to be taken, remind fellow students to answer yearbook survey questions, and promote sales of the book.
    We will meet at lunchtime on a Zoom Call for discussions.

    The meetings will be every two or four weeks as needed.
    The first meeting will be on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2021 at 12:45 pm.  The Zoom link will be emailed to your school account. 

     

    Student Council is still accepting pajama and book donations today until 4PM on the MPS Porch.
