This year marks my tenth year teaching visual arts at Governor Livingston High School! Each year as we grow as a department and are introduced to new programs and innovations in Technology, my art experience becomes more exciting. We are so fortunate at GLHS that art is at the forefront of the education plan for every student. Beginning with my Foundations of Art Studio course, I try to guide my students through a series of explorations that give them a glimpse of history and lots of hands-on experiences. Currently I teach classes in Ceramics and 3-Dimensional Forms, Crafts Design, and Project Connect Art, a freshman elective. Whether my classes are developing Websites, or constructing a mixed media collage, we are focussed on the Elements of Art and Design Principles that drive all forms of Visual Art. In 2013 I earned my MSET Masters from Ramapo College of New Jersey, proving that it's never too late. Now, even as I continue to share the courses I love with my students, Technology plays an ever important role in the way we deliver and share information.
