  • 2020-2021 John Sexton Essay Contest

The organization, Rise for Rohingya, is interested in extending a scholarship and mentorship opportunity to high school students.

Each year they partner with NYU and its President Emeritus, John Sexton, to organize an essay contest open to all NJ high school students. The goal is to bring awareness of the Rohingya Refugee Crisis to the future young leaders and have them think critically about global issues.

Winners of the contest receive a cash prize, extensive SAT tutoring, and lifelong mentorship from John Sexton.

Past winners of the contest have gone on to attend NYU, Harvard, Yale, Cornell & many other prestigious institutions of higher learning. And some are now part of the Rise for Rohingya team.

The details of the  2020-2021 John Sexton Essay Contest are attached.
