    Marie Pellegrini
My name is Marie Pellegrini. I grew up in Bayonne, New Jersey, not far from Berkeley Heights.  I am a graduate of Holy Family Academy and Jersey City State College, now known as New Jersey City University.  I received my degrees in Elementary Education and Writing in 1993.  I taught third and fourth grades in Jersey City for 8 1/2 years only to take a ten year childcare leave.  When my boys were in school full time, I returned to work in Berkeley Heights as a substitute and HELP teacher.
I have been with the Berkeley Heights School District since 2008. I am currently pursuing my online master's degree in Educational Technology at

New Jersey City University.  I will graduate in May 2020.

I have two sons, one of who is still traveling through the Berkeley Heights School System. My husband and I couldn't be happier with the education and love they received from their teachers and staff! It is exciting to see how far they have come since preschool. Nicky graduated from
Governor Livingston High School on June 20th, 2019 and will attend Seton Hall University in the Fall.  Antonio will be a senior this fall and graduates in June 2020. He is an avid lacrosse player and loves the sciences.

    Michele Guerriero
I am so excited to be starting another year at Mountain Park Elementary School!  I have been in the education field for the past nine years and have previously taught in Chatham, New Jersey before making the move to Berkeley Heights.  My greatest joy as a teacher is watching my students grow, mature, develop independence, and have fun while learning.  Seeing progress achieved, even in small increments, brings a smile to my face each and every experience!

During my childhood, I grew up in the neighboring town of New Providence.  I am a graduate of New Providence High School and Kean University (summa cum laude) where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Special Education and General Education K-6.  As an educator, it is our commitment to be live-long learners, therefore, I constantly attend many workshops and classes to further develop my craft of teaching.  Some of my favorite learning experiences have been Columbia University's Reading/Writing Summer Institute, Orton Gillingham Multi-Sensory Reading, and Project Read's Report Form, Story Form, and Framing Your Thoughts.

I currently live in Maplewood with my husband and two sons.  In fact, it is my two sons of which I contribute all my efforts and dedication to become a special educator after the age of 35!  In my spare time I love to travel, shop, and spend time with my family.  My experience as a special education parent has taught me the value of the home-school partnership as well as truly understanding "it takes a village."  I look forward to working together with my students, parents and colleagues, while making a positive impact in the lives of my students.

We have been co-teaching for six years at Mountain Park School.  This will be our seventh year together. Mrs. Guerriero and I look forward to a rewarding 2019-2020 school year with your children in Room 16!

4PG students will be working together as a team and learning many strategies to complete all of their assignments successfully and make meaningful connections in all subject areas. This year there will be a heavy focus on a growth mindset and the power of YET.  If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us
