• Spelling

    The spelling program is a developmentally appropriate and child-centered approach to spelling. It will allow students to engage in hands-on activities throughout the school year. Students will receive their word lists on Monday. Every Friday students will take their spelling assessment.

     

    High Frequency Words

    Each week, students learn four new high frequency words.  At the end of each week, they will be tested on these words through the dictation of sentences.  

     

    As well, students will be given words based on their spelling needs.  Students will be tested on these words through dictation on Friday. The first ten words are words that come from the list.  The last two words will be words that follow the same pattern of spelling that was taught.
