A little bit about me:
I have been teaching for 19 years. I spent 12 years in kindergarten and this will be my seventh year teaching first grade. I received my undergraduate degree from SUNY Cortland in 1984 in Elementary Education and my Masters Degree with Distinction in Early Childhood Education in 2009 from Kean University. In January, 2010 I was awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching by President Barack Obama. You can see some photos on this site.
I have two children that attended the Berkeley Heights Public School system from the Early Childhood Center through GL. Alexandra is a 2010 graduate and Madeline is a 2013 graduate. My husband Russell and I have lived in Berkeley Heights since 1993. We have a dog, Nate.
In June 2020, I published my first book, Protecting You...Protecting Me. Click on the link for a read aloud:
In 2015-16 school year I was awarded Educator of the Year for MaryKay McMillin School.
I also teach at Kean University as an adjunt professor in the Department of Early Childhood.
My hobbies are writing, cooking, biking, and trying to make the world a better place.
