Computer/Robotics Club

The Hughes Computer/Robotics Club provides students an opportunity to learn about programming and robotics in a fun and engaging way.

The club runs after school in 4 week sessions for students in the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade.

The club introduces students to scratch programming through the CS First with Google platform. Beginners are welcome as well as more advanced scratch programmers! The CS First platform allows us to individualize the lessons while providing an opportunity for students to showcase their work.

Using scratch programming, students program Finch Robots to complete a series of challenges such as navigating a maze, relay races, tag, and soccer. We hope this early introduction will foster an interest in STEAM and inspire students to join the robotics teams at CMS and GL.
