Contact Information: The best way to reach me is by e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
However, I'd prefer to discuss any concerns you might have in person or by phone. If you would like to speak with me, please send me an e-mail with the best number for me to call you and several times when you are available in the afternoon (I'm not able to take inbound calls on the classroom phone). Students are encouraged to speak to me about any concerns before or after class.
Office Hours: by appointment. See me after class or send me an e-mail.
Class Expectations: Work hard, do all assignments on time, ask for help and give help. If you miss class time, you are responsible for acquiring this information and getting caught up.
Google Classroom: all students are expected to sign onto their Google Classroom and check it regularly for assignments and communications. Here are the necessary classroom codes, by block:
A&E = 3k3k3f1
Grading Policy: Total points system based on tests, quizzes, projects, homework and writing assignments. No extra credit. One retake of a test per marking period is allowed; student must achieve at least a 70 on the retake, then I will replace the lower grade with a 70 (highest grade allowed on a retake is a 70). Retake must occur within 2 weeks of initial test. There is no explicit grade for participation, however, there is a strong positive correlation between active participation and grade earned - those who participate regularly typically score much higher than those who do not, and they enjoy class more!
Where to find up to date HW assignments: Details of larger assignments will be posted in Google Classroom. Daily practice assignments will be posted in class.
