    Dear Parents,

    Welcome to 6th grade! I am excited to be your child’s Reading teacher.  This year we will read different types of fiction, narrative nonfiction, and informational text. Students will read independently, as a whole class, in small groups and in pairs. We will also be thinking critically about what we read and responding through various writing assignments.

    Your ongoing support at home will ensure your child’s success this year. Powerschool will be a valuable tool to monitor their progress. Google Classroom will show assignments posted, but your child's agenda should be your first resource for finding assignments and announcements. Important handouts will be available on Google Classroom. Please print and reference as needed.
