Introductory Letters

Introductory Letter to Parents from Business Administrator Donna Felezzola ~

We are pleased to inform you about some changes that are occurring in our cafeterias.  This year the Berkeley Heights school cafeterias will be serviced by a food management vendor.  In response to the increased cost to the district and new regulations issued by the state, proposals were obtained from several established vendors working in similar school districts.

After careful consideration of the proposals received, the district has engaged Pomptonian Food Service to manage the food service program for the district. The company has extensive experience in the state; they manage food service programs in 66 New Jersey school districts. They have extensive experience with alternative scheduling at high schools and are experienced in working with districts that retain their own cafeteria workers and their own food service director, all of which are components of the Berkeley Heights food service program.

The Berkeley Heights school district and Pomptonian are committed to providing a quality program for our students and staff.  There will be new menu options and increased communications with parents regarding nutritional content of the meals.  We have established a web link on the school district website which will connect with the Pomptonian website.  This link will provide access to menus, prices and nutritional information regarding the food served in the school cafeterias.

We are excited about the changes that a food service management company will bring to our cafeterias.  We welcome any comments or feedback you may have regarding the food service program.  Please contact me at dfelezzola@bhpsnj.org with your comments or questions.
