Governor Livingston High School offers three years of American Sign Language (ASL) as a World Language.  ASL is open to all students: hearing, deaf and hard of hearing.  The ASL courses allow students to better understand the grammar, syntax and history of American Sign Language.  In addition, the popularity of these classes has created an understanding of deafness and fluency with ASL that has promoted friendships between hearing and deaf students.

           Please contact Ms. Schank for
             ASL meeting schedule.

American Sign Language students at Governor Livingston may also participate in the ASL Honor Society.  This program was established nationally in 2006 as a means to encourage and recognize those who have achieved a high level of academic success in American Sign Language studies.
