  • **Update** GLHS finished 3rd in the nation in the Moody's Mega Math Challenge

    A team of 5 students from GLHS finished 3rd in the nation in the Moody's Mega Math Challenge, earning scholarships totaling $10,000. Over 1000 teams competed in the initial 14 hour challenge to develop a solution to a multi-faceted problem about car sharing, and then 6 teams including GLHS were chosen to present their solutions to a panel of judges in NYC on April 25. The Moody's team consisted of seniors Alex Ju and Anna Song, juniors Niyant Narang, Gianna Miggins and Michael Wu, and was coached by Steve Hess and Steve Ciarrocca.   • Superintendent Judy Rattner to participate in national consortium to advance women in school leadership

    AASA, The School Superintendents Association, has launched a new, groundbreaking initiative called More Than a Power Lunch: Building Networks to Support and Advance Women in School Leadership. The purpose of the project is to help mitigate the impact of social barriers women face in ascending to the top leadership positions within our school systems and to significantly increase the number of women seeking and becoming CEOs and superintendents of schools. Berkeley Heights' Judy Rattner is one of the 10 successful women leaders, representing a variety of roles within the education and business community, to participate in the national consortium.   • Status of the teacher contract negotiations

    The negotiation committees of the Berkeley Heights Board of Education and the Berkeley Heights Education Association have reached a tentative agreement for a contract, which addresses compensation, benefits and working conditions, retroactive to July 1, 2015. Upon formal ratification and approval of the final contract by the full memberships of the Association and the Board, it will be made available to the public.
