The mission of the Berkeley Heights School District, a community partnership that values the direct relationship between exceptional education and individual success, is to challenge students to explore, to excel, and to embrace a lifetime of learning by developing a staff devoted to excellence, applying resources effectively, fostering a culture of mutual respect and integrity, and offering engaging academic curricula and diverse co-curricular programs.

We believe:  
Education is the responsibility of the entire community. All children have the ability to learn.
Education must support all aspects of a child’s development. Children develop best in an atmosphere which celebrates their unique qualities.
For learning to occur a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment must exist. The preparation and professional growth of teachers is an essential element of a quality education.

The Berkeley Heights Schools are comprised of six schools that primarily service of youths of the township of Berkeley Heights and also the Borough of Mountainside at the high school level. The two towns, located in central New Jersey, have a combined population of 20,000. This upper middle income suburban community is surrounded by several corporate headquarters and the scenic 2,000 acre Watchung Reservation and is 25 miles from New York City.
