“With your various types of students from those who have exceptional difficulties to those who have exceptional skills, all students are encouraged to excel to their own standard.  This kind of programming is truly extraordinary.”

Foundations for Success

At Governor Livingston High School, we strive to foster a sense of personal self worth and achievement by encouraging the development of each student's talents and interests.  We also utilize a combination of school, community and nationally based organizations to showcase these talents.

Students are encouraged to participate in GLHS athletic programs, clubs, government and theatrical productions.  They may also compete in the annual Optimist Club’s Oratorical Contest and the VSA (Very Special Arts) Competition.  Our ASL Club and D/HH Enrichment Organization serve to promote the cultural aspects of deafness that support a strong deaf peer group.

In addition, our program provides valuable opportunities for students who are deaf, hard of hearing and hearing to interact with each other on a daily basis, ensuring that each student who attends Governor Livingston is proud to be known as a Highlander.
